Flying penguin!

Today has been a real doozy of a day, but thankfully this incredible photo and video from National Geographic photographer Paul Nicklen seems like the perfect antidote. Check out just how penguins propel themselves to the surface (creating the stunning image above) here:

Hump Day Distractions

Guess what day it is you sassy pink fellow you...

"I can't wait to go home and arrange these gords in our new basket!" - Thing I actually said last night. (#decorativegordseason). It's Wednesday... not Friday. Good lord someone get me to Friday. But in the meantime, let's get our hump on.

* This seems like a craft project that just might be worth the effort (tassel-tastic!)

* Going through a bit of a skull phase... diggin this necklace.

* I own more than a few of THESE life-changers and I absolutely agree (lookin at you SodaStream!)

* From black and white to color... very cool.

* This kid is my hero. My food loving, poop-chatting, hero.

Insta-bsession

Of all the forms of social media I've encountered, I recently decided that Instagram is my favorite. As a lover of photography, the simple click-edit-share platform cuts away the clutter of Facebook, the character limits of Twitter and the creepy-stalkerishness of FourSquare. It's a chance to curate and share my collection of photos, whether they be scenic views, tasty meals or adventures with Dr. H.

The biggest problem I have with Instagram however, is that I never DO anything with my 'grams other than share them through my phone... and sometimes the shots are real winners and deserve a bit more lovin than that! * The ballerina in me is amazed (and wishes she'd gotten the chance to perform to Radiohead).
