Hump Day Distractions

I pretty much live my life in fear of this
Hello there my merry friends and welcome to Hump Day. I'm chugging along through my first full week as my own boss (more on that soon!) while also trying to enjoy every minute of the gorgeous summer sunshine, that rumor has it, will be fading to fall in just a few weeks (doh!) Here to delight and distract us until the weekend arrives are some goodies from around the web. Enjoy!

* By the time I got to the end of THIS, tears were just streaming down my cheeks. Way to go Pampers.
* I want to cook HERE.
* For my fellow Mad Men fans, some thoughts from Matthew Weiner about the finale (plus the trailer for a movie he made that I didn't even know was coming out this month)
* Love me a good one pot pasta dish (especially when it allows me to use some of my home grown basil!)
* #IceBucketChallengeFail (warning, some of these look painful and not at all funny, but most are pretty damn hysterical)
* As someone inching closer to becoming a Park Slope stereotype, this list cracked me up.
* If company's slogans were honest.
* I don't know what it says about me that 3 different family members sent me THIS link, but cool.

Hump Day Distractions

Awww hehe.
This morning, halfway down the stairs to exit my apartment building for my scheduled weekly workout, a little voice in my head said "Meri, you forgot to pack a bra..." And I said "really little voice? How do you know that?" But with no time to waste, just to be sure, I ran back up and straight to my dresser. Sure enough, my black bra was in there, not in my gym bag. I thought to myself "Thanks little voice! Today is going to be a good day". Here to ensure that good day are some delightful distractions from around the web.

* Some super tasty looking 2 ingredient sandwiches. Yum. (via CupofJo)
* Tina on women's body image. God I love her!
* It always strikes me as funny that actors campaign for awards, but they do. And these Emmy campaign posters from the cast of Mad Men are pretty freakin good.
* Do you work from home? Dr. H used to and based on his experience, all these tips sound like a great idea.
* Good for you Natalie! All beautiful bodies are created equal!!
* "I think if we met I would find you insufferable" and other missed connections of the hysterical variety
* If you love Billy Crystal or Mindy Kaling, or both, read this (super cool behind the scenes When Harry Met Sally info enclosed!!)
* Have you heard of oil pulling? I am kinda skeptical, gonna have to consult Sis (20 minutes!?)
* Behind the scenes of the Photoshop treatment for all those food pics that make us salivate!
* I think I've shared pics of this duo before... but who cares? Here's more!! (thanks Sis!)

Hump Day Distractions

FINALLY!!! Isn't this just the spring-licious week we've all been desperate for!? NYC has been almost hot these past few days and the warm sunshine seems to be putting smiles on everyone's faces. It's glorious... Almost as glorious as knowing that we just need to survive another 2.5 days until the weekend. Hop on over the hump with these distractions and I'll see you on the other side :)

* A touching and amusing story about parental love from Dax Sheppard (including a heartwarming photo of his sexy baby mama Kristen Bell)
* Like something out of an Alfred Hitchcock movie... It's gonna be so GROSS.
* Hope in bloom (via NYC Taught Me)
Spinach and Goat Cheese Hash Brown Nests. I pinned it and it's been re-pinned a buttload. I guess peeps just love their goat cheese and fried potatoes! (full recipe HERE)
* I'm torn between thinking THIS is absolutely hysterical and completely cruel. Good luck when he's a teenager Dad.
* So true.
* If you watch Mad Men, you must read this review (warning: complete spoiler of Sunday's episode)
* There's something incredibly beautiful about THIS.
* The only problem is deciding which one to order first... AMAZEBALLS. (via YAMF)
* The plan is to marry him, divorce him, take the house. Don't really see any other way to make THIS mine.
* Incredibly creepy in a completely hysterical way (who does this stuff!?)
* Photobomb legends.

Hump Day Distractions

It's Wednesday; no need to exercise restraint
Happy Hump Day! This week has been a frizzy-hair'ed, rainy, grey mess in NYC, so I'm pleased to know that the halfway point is upon us. I'm also going to use this super popular blog day to ask the following: Do you have a rant that needs a forum? An idea which is itching to be shared? A recipe that the world should be eating!? Well then, you should be a guest-poster on SeektobeMerry! Email me at seektobemerry@gmail.com, leave a comment below or tweet me @seektobemerry to find out just how to get your very own day of merry glory. And now... HUMP IT:

* Now you can fall asleep to the menu screen of a DVD without bothering to put on a DVD!
* I'm going HERE for a few days next week. Ever been? Got suggestions? (Leave a comment!)
* How soon is too soon for farts? Could you and your honey have survived THIS!?!
* Those guys and gals from Mad Men sure can drink
* Not only is bacon delicious, but it's also functional!
* Passive aggressive elevator notes (I'm not the only one who has an issue with flatulence in a confined airspace!)

Obviously humpback whales think Wednesday Rules.
Well hello there Wednesday, nice to see you again!! I'm feeling very merry this week and I'm grateful for the exchange of major ho hums for some of life's beachy/bachelorette-y/family filled/wedding-y/niece-playdate-y fabulosity. When things are good we must appreciate:) And speaking of good, I think these distractions will have you smiling while you hump the day. Get it.

* Though I'm more of an English girl, this tuckered out Frenchie brought a big smile to my face.
* The perfect DIY for the MVP at my next theme party
* Grab your (wo)man and make it a date night
* All Dr. H tested, Dr. H approved (though he discovered he is not a spaghetti squash man)
* This season of Mad Men may be over, but here are some fabulous factoids to keep Sterling Cooper Draper Price on your mind (via CupofJo)
* Some cutesy, crafty printables for your next BBQ
